We at bribieisland-it are aware of youtube videos targeting Australians with AI generated content, including Prime Minister Albanese in what appears to be the government endorsing share market trade. These false and misleading adverts plead for Australians to put AUD $400 deposit in to a managed investment account and pledging that the deposit will return $40 hourly, and boasting how it will benefit the country's economy and provide financial security from now and in to retirement.
We urge everyone to immediately report these blatent scams and contact your local member to appeal to Meta for removal of this toxic content, and more strict review of the ads embedded in to their platform.
While many of our clients are cyber-aware enough to not fall for such scams, we fear for the Australians that are susceptable to the lure of a promise that can not be proven and inevitably end with family finances being ruined.
